Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Catholic Charities helps those who are struggling in central and southwest Iowa 24 hours a day, seven days per week, 365 days a year. With that kind of schedule, we need the help of volunteers to support our mission to Empower Individuals and Strengthen Families.

Become a Meal Provider

We are in immediate need of meal providers for evening meals at our Emergency Family Shelter. This simple act of kindness provides a sense of normalcy and nourishment for the families we are helping along their path back to self-sufficiency. We need YOUR HELP to fill the calendar and are grateful for one-time meal providers or those who are able to do so on a monthly basis.

Every hour of your time impacts someone’s life.

Become a Volunteer

While most of our direct client work is done by our trained staff, we have many other opportunities for volunteers to get involved and make a difference! There is something for everyone to do, from providing a home-cooked meal to the Emergency Family Shelter, to helping with yard work at the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault program, to giving a couple hours of your time to help feed those coming to the Food Pantry and much more!
