PRESENTING SPONSORGUIDING STAR
15th Year brings a great crowd and generous support for homeless.
More than 200 people enjoyed this year’s No Room at the Inn fundraising reception at the Pastoral Center on December 6. Proceeds from the event benefited the Catholic Charities Emergency Shelter that serves homeless families in our communtiy.
Guests enjoyed various “fun”draising activities, photo booth, and silent auction. The auction featured fixed bid opportunities to bike ride or picnic with Bishop Joensen. We are grateful for his generosity!
A brief program featured executive director, Barbara Q. Decker, who introduced the leadership staff for the shelter and conveyed the importance for the shelter in our community, as it keeps families together during very challenging times. Bishop Joensen addressed the guests, recalling the day of his announcement as bishop to the diocese. He, Bishop Pates, and Barbara Decker ate dinner at the shelter. He shared that “[the shelter guests] didn’t care that I would be the new bishop; they cared that I cared.”
While numbers are still coming in, the totals appear to exceed $45,000! A blessing to a program that relies on grants and donations to sustain its mission. Many thanks to all those who made this event a success!
