Catholic Charities Hires New Director of Programs
Catholic Charities is pleased to announce the employment of Scott Caldwell as the new Program Director at Catholic Charities.
Scott graduated with a Bachelor’s of Art (B.A.) degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. He received his Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree from the University of Iowa. He is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW, State of Iowa) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, State of Illinois).
His employment includes 22 years of experience in clinical social work with extensive and varied background in social services, including administration and supervision; grant writing and new program development; program budgets; contract management and compliance; clinical services; case management; school-based mental health services; and, community planning and collaboration. Currently, he serves as an Outpatient Therapist Manager responsible for outpatient therapists at a community mental health center in Davenport, Iowa.
He previously served as Director of Mental Health Services for 10 years with Lutheran Services in Iowa (LSI). In this position, he had oversight for outpatient and school-based services for 19 LSI sites, including Des Moines. He collaborated with multiple public, private, educational, and other community partners. In his career as a therapist, he has worked with individuals, families, couples, and adoption/foster care. He was formerly employed as a Director with United Way of the Quad-Cities Area on early childhood and school age community initiatives and adolescent services.
Scott is currently serving as a Peer Reviewer for the Council on Accreditation (COA), an international, independent, non-profit human service accrediting organization. He was certified by COA in 2012 and has conducted more than 15 peer reviews in the United States and Canada. His professional membership includes serving as a member of the University of Iowa, School of Social Work and the Quad Cities Professional Advisory Committee.
