Renaming process will strengthen agency for the future.

As our agency began a strategic planning process last year, we kept running into a problem.

People didn’t know who we were!

Not only the general public, but those who work within our faith community didn’t realize all the different facilities and programs that Catholic Charities actually operates in central and southwest Iowa. Over the years, facilities took on names that might have been in the spirit of the service, but didn’t tie them to the Catholic Charities brand.

With the approval of Bishop Pates and the Board of Directors, Catholic Charities has renamed its facilities and programs to reflect one unified agency. Here is a handy chart for what to look for:

Before After
Catholic Charities Offices Catholic Charities Administrative Office*
–          Center for Life Counseling –          Catholic Charities Counseling Program
–          Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement –          Catholic Charities Refugee Resettlement

We realize this may cause some confusion in the short run, but hope that this change will make our organization stronger and more visible for clients and donors in years to come.
